Original artwork from a variety of distinguished artists both Spanish and overseas. Our Gallery has different media including water colour, oil, ceramics and jewellery.
Whether beginner or advanced, we have tailored lessons to suit all levels and media. Including pencil, watercolours and oils.
Rose, and other artists who exhibit in the gallery, can be commissioned to produce your own piece of work such as people and pet portraits.
Rose Parker was ten years old when she discovered she had a gift. She could take an image and reproduce it. As a pony mad girl, it was mostly horses she drew which nurtured a love for two things important to her; horses and art. Both featured strongly in her life, and after wishing on a star many times she finally had a horse bought as a gift for her, by her husband.
After failing to get into art college to be an illustrator straight from school, she studied three dimensional design and qualified with a degree. But, as her parents from working class Derbyshire told her; you can’t make a living drawing! So…she also has a degree as a teacher, and taught art, design, graphics, as well as woodwork and food technology (cooking to you and me). Being a forces wife, she moved around the country many times and her teaching career was a patchwork of every sort and size of school. Teaching, however, was not good for her health. She had inherited Rheumatoid Arthritis from her mother and the stresses of teaching, bring up children and looking after four horses meant that at the age of 46 she had both knees totally replaced.
After 31 years at the chalkface, her husband helped her escape…and they both took early retirement and moved to Arboleas. These days, she is in fact making a living by drawing…living the dream! Rose can work in any medium, even clay! She draws pet portraits from photographs and loves photo realism. She hasn’t found her style yet, she is busy playing with watercolours to create landscapes or townscapes. If you want to meet her, please visit the Rose Parker Galeria de Art (map below). You can also sign up for lessons; either join the established group of artists, working on individual art projects under her guidance or ask about beginners groups. Follow her on Facebook, Rose Parker Artist 2 or Instagram. She would love to meet you and your furry friends if you have them!
